My name is Gregg Miller. I am a thinker, a doodler, an idea factory; the golden goose living in a dark forest. What I offer as a conceptual systems engineer is broad, sound, original concept generation tempered against real world experience.
I am a former U.S. Marine of 13 years and a graduate of George Mason University with a Bachelor’s of Individualized Studies in Conceptual Systems Engineering. CSE (or Concept Engineering) is an integration of Systems Engineering and Psychology that allows me to create conceptual solutions drawn simultaneously from an intuitive understanding of the problem and from the way people behave naturally.
This differs from systems engineering only in that an SE attempts to control for all variables so that every outcome of a system can be predicted. This approach takes a brilliant specialist to tame the unknown. A CSE is a brilliant generalist, one who attempts to make use of the variables that cannot be controlled for, yet will affect the outcome of the system, making the unstructured components part of the solution.
My ability to communicate complex ideas through discussion, presentation, and writing is excellent. Regardless of station, I am routinely the person that people approach with questions. I bring alternative tools that quickly become invaluable to any organization. I love to teach. I love to travel. I learn quickly and easily and I work my ass off given the opportunity. I easily fit into almost any team role. I am incredibly creative for someone so practical. I am also modest.
If you’re into the Myers-Briggs, I’m an INTP. A good quote from the description:
The INTP is usually very independent, unconventional, and original. They are not likely to place much value on traditional goals such as popularity and security. They usually have complex characters, and may tend to be restless and temperamental. They are strongly ingenious, and have unconventional thought patterns which allows them to analyze ideas in new ways. Consequently, a lot of scientific breakthroughs in the world have been made by the INTP.
The INTP is at his best when he can work on his theories independently. When given an environment which supports his creative genius and possible eccentricity, the INTP can accomplish truly remarkable things. These are the pioneers of new thoughts in our society.
Another great description is here.
Give me a chance and I will do epic shit.
