I thought of this while making breakfast for my Creature. She likes it when I dance and sing (I am skilled at neither) and she forgets that’s she’s waiting to eat. Since I was making her a bagel, I made up a bagel song. It was so catchy, I thought I should write it down.

I know almost nothing about music so I figured much of this out as I did it (during her nap time). I used Ensemble Composer on my tablet to make it originally, and then MuseScore to make the version below. Both were free, which is my favorite price.

After every stanza, you should be out of breath because there’s no break. You have to pass the singing on to the next person in a group who then sings about how much THEY love bagels. Or they can just say “bagel” over and over again (as you can see above).

The Bagel Bagel is a dance where your hips hit three points in a triangle around your body (back, left, right). Do the Bagel Bagel for the last three beats of each line. Play it faster and faster until everyone is talking in jibberish! Kids are fun. 🙂

If I wanted to do more with this, I would probably copy the first part of this tune and make an additional segment where there’s a call and echo. I’ll think about it. I’m open to suggestions.

My daughter loves this song, but then she also loves my singing, so there’s no accounting for taste. Enjoy, and good luck getting this out of your head.
